2 gals Claret wine
1 gal brandy or whiskey
4 cans sliced pineapple
4 doz oranges, sliced

Put above ingredients together in a large crock or similar vessel, Let stand a few hours.
Place a large ice mold in the center of a large punch bowl. Decorate the top of the ice with fruits in season.
Fill the bowl with mixture. Serve in punch or Champagne glasses.
Just before serving, Champagne may be added.

History of Christ Church. Following the Revolutionary War, the descendants of early settlers petitioned for a charter and were incorporated in 1808 as The Episcopal Church in Frederica, called Christ Church. The first church on the present location was erected in 1820 and they worshipped there until outbreak of the Civil War.
The Church was destroyed during the Civil War. The Rev. Anson Green Phelps Dodge, Jr. rebuilt Christ Church after the war in memory of his wife, Ellen.
