This has a pic of my fourth great grandfather Samuel H. Meeker (https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=67462755), top row all the way on the left. I would like to know if anyone can blow it up and make it clearer. I have no idea how these new picture programs work.

Thx in advance if you can help.

Jay

Welcome. I know of no way to blow up a photo without loss of detail. Maybe someone else here does. This is 300% larger.

Unfortunately as it's uploaded in such low quality, the detail is lost. Unless you find a version in proper quality you're going to be hard pressed to find anything of use. I enlarged it about 10 times for you, and as you can see, it didn't do the picture any favors. :(

No worries man, just thought I'd point out I did post not too long ago

I've got a lot backed up, but I'm also working a lot on modern images, so a lot of my time is sadly spent on that.
I'll look for more of your posts.

Hello, Jay. Did you scan the original before you posted it? Our problem is that the scan is low resolution (72 dpi) and small physical size (1.5" wide). In addition, the scan is blurry--probably from placing the picture, frame and all, onto the scanning bed. Try this: Remove the frame, place the picture on the scanning bed and close the cover. Set the scanner for at least 300 d.p.i.--600 d.p.i. would be even better. Then scan and post your new attachment. If the scan is not blurred, we should then be able to enlarge your photo at least three times its present size.
