Hello, I'm wondering if someone could possibly help me to understand the documents (found on Ancestry) below.
I believe these may be 2 separate Hoy men carrying the same initials. However, I'm not sure. According to a picture included with the 1st document below it states that Corp. S H Hoy was wounded, not killed.
The 2nd document seems to contradict itself, IMHO. It shows that he didn't survive the war, but in the service record it shows that he mustered out.
Would he be shown on Civil War records as being mustered out if he was deceased?
