Although my collecting has slowed way down of late, I recently picked up this tintype of an identified Confederate from North Carolina.
I present to you Private Moses Linkler of Company E, 4th North Carolina Cavalry. You can read about him in the pictures below.
What's interesting (besides purchasing the image itself), is that this exact image is included in the book Civil War Hard Images: Volume One - Confederate by Anderson & Pauley on pages 186-187. (Not that it matters, but this is the third Civil War item I own that is published. It wasn't my intent to gather published items but I find it pretty neat to have a few of them.)
Private Linkler is pictured wearing a civilian jacket with wood buttons and a scarf. He is holding a Whitney revolver. I'm proud to be the latest custodian of Private Linkler's photograph.
