Forrest's is an exceptionally well done drawing by the looks of things, and one of the best images I've seen in terms of capturing the man. Those eyes could really look right through you. Mary Ann, on the other hand has a far away look in her eyes as she looks away from the camera. Makes you wonder what she's thinking ...

This is Mary Ann Forrest, Forrest's wife with her grandson Nathan Bedford Forrest II. The other one is, as mentioned before, Mom! It's from a locket and the reverse of it has her second husband, Forrest's stepfather John Luxton. (Might be James.) Mary Ann is probably in her late 40s in this picture, believe it was taken some time after her husband's death.

Miriam Forrest is quite an interesting lady on her own. My favorite story of her is popping a Union soldier in the nose because he insulted her - at 6 feet and 185lbs, she packed enough wallop to land him on his rear! He remembered his manners thereafter...
