Another thread on CWT mentioned it's illegal to sell MOHs. Well an auction House in Germany is selling one (guess not illegal there). But it was issued to a Soldier that escorted Lincolns remain across the Country to his final resting place. But later all those MOHs issued to that detail were revoked. So is it illegal to sell a revoked MOH? I remember seeing one like that many years ago for sale issued to a Regiment that defended Washington DC but those awards were later revoked too.

Selling any original or replica Medal of Honor is illegal in the US. It doesn't matter whether it was issued, revoked, or even just a copy. As noted, US laws don't apply elsewhere.

When the law was passed making it illegal to sell or possess a Medal of Honor here in the United States, several American collectors sold the MOH's in their collections to collectors overseas. They occasionally pop up for sale in Canada, the UK, Germany and other countries. You shouldn't be surprised by this.
