A portrait of Miss E. Demine, taken by photographer Mathew Brady. (1860-1865))
Welcome & Nicely done. BTW, for the National Archive images (such as this one) there are large sizes available (if you had not found them already) that would allow you to play with the detail a little more. You can find the larger version of this one here.
Out of curiosity, what are you using to do your colorization's?
Thanks for posting. A great photo. She looks much younger in the black and white photo. In color her hair appears to be on the verge of turning grey.

What do you mean by that? You can do better
Thank you. Corrected.

Well quality wise I'd say it fits the bill, but it's hard to really pinpoint the quality to a certain era as Brady has maintained the same sort of quality throughout his work, but this might just be a rebellious teenager (She looks quite young, late teens). This may be "by Brady" but it certainly doesn't look Civil War period to me - guessing I'd say 1870's at the earliest. ( Mostly because of the unkempt hair, but THAT wouldn'tve been fashionable at any time in the 1800's. I remember a White House-era photo of Nellie Grant and Ulysses Jr. where her hair looks similar though. )

Thanks for posting the larger version. I am not personally familiar with Akvis, so thanks for sharing your results. Looking at the detail in the larger version and reviewing a Akvis video, it looks fairly easy to use, but I'm concerned about the ability to fine tune the image. I noticed for example that the color of her earrings appears on her hair and that her neckline suddenly stops in the middle of the cross and is B&W to the bottom of the exposed skin.
Do you have the ability to touch up some of these things after?
Can you add things like more color in the cheeks?
Great Job ! I would love to know Miss E Demine's story. Beautiful girl. She reminds me of the oldest daughter on Little House on the Prairie.Thank you. Corrected.
