Hey all. I found a strange item at an antique store. It looks like a Springfield bayonet but mini. The blade is about 13 inches. The muzzle is like 5/8 inches. No marks. Anyone ever seen anything like it? It's like a bayonet for a child

I know there is a Belgian half scale musket. Perhaps from one of those ?

Could be a bayonet for a Fusil or other lower caliber musket. With so many Gunsmiths and Blacksmiths making these items during our early history. Many French bayonets of the Rev War period had 13" blades and the US adopted that length too, so that is not unusual.

Thanks for the info friends. It looks like it was made in someone's garage. I was going to get rid of it but I like odd stuff so it will now have a place of honor
