Military Heritage Weekend

The Clinton Red Mill and Village held its annual Military Heritage weekend event on April 1st-2nd and the displays and participants were great! There were Vietnam, WW2, Rev War, Civil War and a few misc reenactors sprinkled in. Great displays, live cannon, musket and rifle firing. Being in NJ, the weapons were big questions, especially since NJ recently implemented much tougher laws, the chief of police and mayor were more than gracious and accommodating and the live firing, in town, went off without a hitch. I did the Civil War exhibit, taking an entire floor of the historic museum. I tried to recreate soldiers "occupying" the Mill. The details are definitely not 100%, do the thread counters will be able to pick apart my improper uniforms, but it was done on a whim, unexpectedly and 99% of the visitors had no clue, but enjoyed it. I displayed rifles, pistols, carbines, soldiers belongings, field desk, camp area, cooking area and relic displays. Aside from a few accent pieces, most everything is authentic ACW or in the case of civilian items,as period correct as I could.
