Well, @War Horse, here are some pics of Lee Chapel and a bit more at Washington and Lee University on Saturday. :smile:

It was great to see your pics, Andrea! I had a little camera trouble inside the chapel and wasn't able to get any pics inside except of the crypt.
 
I note that there's now two photos of Washington Hall. The husband of my relative (sister of my ggg grandfather) built that building as well as a couple of others on campus (and the brick work on Monticello). His house still stands (Stono) and is right at the eastern edge of campus. He was a close friend of the commandant and attended the same church as the Jacksons (and built the parsonage which also still stands).

No, thanks for the great input, @John Winn! That's the kind of stuff I wish I'd known when we were there on Saturday. One of the maps we got from the Visitor's Center said that a local woodcarver carved the original statue of Washington on top of Washington Hall, and that it was only recently recast in bronze (?) and replaced. That is an impressive building! And the entire campus is beautiful!
