Me and General Longstreet

When at Gettysburg, I had my significant other take a photo of me with Genl. Longstreet's statue.
I know that at least @War Horse once posted a very similar photo and I hope a lot of you others have too.
So let's compare what we got...

Since I don't do "selfies" this will have to do for me - kind of hard to take and be in a decent picture at the same time! (This was a couple of years ago during my last visit.)

My husband had never seen old Pete's pony before this thread. His comment: looks like a piece of playground equipment. He was curious if it had originally been intended to go on the top of something far up in the air, which would explain why his shoulders and the horse's head are outsized. Does anyone know?

Funny I call it the carousel horse. Hero deserves better. Considering it's the only mounted monument on the ground. I'd say it's a safe bet it was intended to be placed on a pedestal. JMO
