Maynard type 2 sight

looks like someone took a musket 2 leaf sight & machined it thinner so it would fit in a Maynard sight base. Right side of the leaf has the border, left side does not. That's where the cut was made. Patina matches barrel.

It does appear to be field repair. Below is a Maynard sight.

Wonder what rifle the 2leaf sight came from? I know the 1866 Winchester had a 2 leaf
