This was a salad my Granny made. She got it from some ladies in her Church. It was popular at Church socials and suppers. I have written about her Church before. It was started in 1700s. in Kentucky. Many families that went when she went were decedents from original members.
Marshmallow and Fruit Salad
1 cut marshmallows
1 cup grapes
sliced pineapple
almonds or pecans
0ne banana
Cut marshmallows in small pieces. Add white grapes, sliced pineapple, almonds or pecans, and one banana, sliced. Serve on lettuce with oil dressing and garnish with maraschino cherries.
Some call this Heavenly Salad or Angel Salad. It is a variation of Ambrosia.
