Recently I have been working on a new article following the 2nd Brigade, 3rd Div., II Corps throughout the battle. One thing I began to pick up on is that modern maps tend to omit the 2nd Corps temporary position down by Todd's Tavern on May 1, before being pulled back to Chancellorsville. There are plenty of accounts that place them there etc., so I do not think there is any argument over that....rather I am curious to know why that point in time does not make many of the modern interpretations....to me that should be something worth noting in studying May 1.....has anyone else come across this or something similar?

I forgot to add...... several period maps or ones done not long after show the II Corps near Todd's Tavern on May 1...... I also understand that nothing of any real significance happened out there in terms of it being essential enough to make it on a current map...due to cost..time..etc.. I am also aware that for interpretation reasons, May 1 is typically consolidated into a general narrative......I am curious to know if this has impacted anybody's research...in any other part of the battle.
