yes. something i can compare to modern maps to locate sites in relation to what's there now. primarily around the Richmond and Petersburg areas.
 
I think it was the last volume of the OR's (Orders of the Rebelion), that contains one rather large book of maps pertaining to the different battles of the Civil War. Most of the maps contain troop movements and in some cases their encampments.

I just happen to have one of those OR map books and I think if someone was a relic hunter, they would find it invaluable.

Are you referring to the Official Records of the War of the Rebellion?

General Chalmers's spy created a map of Collierville, TN, showing terrain and units. I am sure the General mentions this map in his report in the OR's but I dont think he said it was attached to his report. This map would be great value in studying the battle. I would like to check that last volume.
