Would anyone be heading to the Civil War show in Mansfield this weekend? I can't but hope you can be on the lookout for Merrill parts. Need 3rd the rear sight and band.

Also, any Burnside or Spencer carbine or Sharps long rifle parts from the CW era - if you can capture their contact info/business cards, I'd be grateful. Eric.

That's a great price. All the parts looked original? I watched a few videos on loading/shooting/creating bullets for a Burnside, and the guy said they didn't make repros (maybe some parts repro'd). With that beautiful Burnside bullet I picked up as part of four display cases with Lawrence pellet primer tube, I will be focusing my efforts on finding a restorable full carbine or barrel/block/lever.

The cartridge cone shape, the opening at the cartridge end for cap spark to ignite it, the cartridge as gas seal when lever closed, loading like a shotgun make this truly unique among the CW era carbines.
If anyone has a carbine or parts, please PM me.

Ed Knisely had a Merrill rear sight at the show. I do not know if he had a band. edknisely@ aol.com 717-741-2556

I needed a band for a Smith carbine which he did not have.
