I'm looking for a pension record for a James Maloy who served in the 140th New York Infantry Regiment.

He did get a pension on December 4th, 1891 while living in New York but I don't have access to Fold3.

Thanks in advance!!

By pension record I assume you mean the pension application. These are not available on Fold3 for men who survived the war. Service records for soldiers from New York are not yet digitized, so you are not missing much by not having access to Fold3.

There are New York specific records that are online. Let me see what I can find.

This is the unit roster record for James Maloy at the New York Military Museum website:

James Maloy - Age, 22 years. Enrolled August 22, 1862 at Rochester to serve three years. Mustered in as first sergeant Co. K September 13, 1862; as second lieutenant Co. I September 24, 1863; as first lieutenant Co. E January 4, 1864; as captain May 5, 1864; mustered out with company June 3, 1865, near Alexandria, Virginia.

Doe that fit what you expected?
