The Longstreet Bivouac, sponsored by The Longstreet Society in Gainesville, is this Saturday (April 8). My husband and I are heading out on Thursday to hike to some waterfalls and explore the area before the big day. I am very excited to visit the Piedmont Hotel for the first time. They are supposed to have some original Longstreet documents available for viewing. Anyone else making the trip? I would love to meet some CWT Longstreet fans! Stay tuned for some pictures. I plan to visit every site associated with the General while I'm in Gainesville. If they have a Longstreet reenactor I may swoon! Wish me luck!!

How did it go. I had an amazing day today exploring his birth place. Where are our pictures?

Pictures are coming! We will be home tomorrow night. Our trip continued after Gainesville. We visited Natchez, MS for the Easter weekend and have been in Chattanooga, TN for the past couple of days. It has been awesome - history in every direction!
