Yes a controlled burn, they have done it in the past, I just wanted to share the link to give other members the heads up in case they plan on visiting.

we have them out in the middle of open range & NO fire hydrants to be found,, These Million plus acre fires in Texas panhandle have sure taken a toll.

Yes they do burn throughout the fields....and it doesn't take long before mother nature reclaims what was burned...

I have been on the field shortly after a controlled burn and the difference in sightlines is terrific. It makes you appreciate all the work the NPS does.
