Lincoln's Balancing Act

I'm trying to teach my 8th graders about the balance that Lincoln had to achieve during this war to win.

First off, is this something worth discussing?

Second, does my outline appear to be correct? Or do I need to add or subtract information. I plan on using this to create a web so the kids can visualize it. Please forgive for the brevity.

Any help is appreciated.

Lincoln had to take under consideration—
1)Border States
a.Slave Owners
b.50/50 in regards to secession
2) Europe
a.England
i.Abolitionist
ii.Factory owners/wealthy
b.France
i.Factory owners
3)Northerners
a.Abolitionist
i.Emancipation
b.Republicans
i.Preserve the Union
ii.Radicals
c.Democrats
i.Preserve the Union w/ slavery
ii.Let the South go
4)South
a.Secessionist
b.Eventually allow for reconciliation
while protecting slavery
