Lincoln meets with Grant

I recently visited the Thomas Wallace House in Petersburg. This is the house Lincoln and Grant met at a few weeks before the surrender at Appomattox. I loved the scene of this meeting in Spielberg's "LINCOLN" and was wondering how factual the dialog was. I truly believe Lincoln's instructions to Grant on how to handle the surrender were step 1 in the road to recovery.

Great movie. I always thought the scene was pretty accurate, but there are actual Lincoln scholars who would know for sure.

From what I understand Lincoln's admonition that there should be no hanging is accurate.
