Lee's Headquarters at Gettysburg

I thought I'd share some photos I took around the site of General Lee's headquarters during my recent visit to Gettysburg. I suppose these can supplement the great photos ARW posted a couple of weeks ago.

From behind the home (that is, on the north side of it), federal artillery raked the flanks of the Confederates attacking Seminary Ridge on July 1. Scales' North Carolina Brigade was nearly annihilated in the assault.

A friend and I were there last Friday because each Friday this summer they allow you to go inside. There is someone from Seminary Ridge Museum who will give you a lot of good info.

I was nearby yesterday, taking in Dan Welch's excellent tour on Archer's Brigade on July 1.

I believe this is same photo on the sign in the first photo of the original post. I'm pretty sure Mathew Brady is standing by the flowers. He is IDed by the LOC in another photo (below). He seems to be wearing the same clothes in both photo.
