Had to go to a meeting this evening at the local courthouse. Sitting out front is this cannon and curiosity had me investigate (time didn't allow for better pictures).

The right side is stamped Leeds & Co New Orleans and the left side is marked 1861. I think this is a 6" cannon but not positive. Still, thought it was a neat historic relic. I think it'd look better mounted on a proper carriage though.

interesting cannon. I noticed that there was not a raised base for the sight on the breech. I had thought that Greenwood was the only one that cast napoleons without the raised area. Greenwood provided a sight base shaped to the contour of the breech. apparently Leeds did the same thing.
