Sorry if this is posted somewher else. I searched it and the search feature wasn't working very good for some reason. I looked for it and didn't see it, so I thought I would start a thread. I thought it was decent. Kind of generic I guess. The filmwork was cool in parts like when it showed high def photgraphs. Besides that the show pretty much confirmed my suspicion that Drew Gilpin Faust is a moron. I liked listening to Winston Groom though. I liked the Alabama football in the background of his library too !! I've been out of commision for a while with the end of school. I'm usually on and off here in the summer, but I'll be lurking. Everyone have a great summer !!

It sure beat the heck out of "Gettysburg".
Well, that's not saying much. At least it didn't seem like a Sam Peckenpaugh movie or "Grand Theft Auto". I think that Gettysburg was such a mess that it could not possibly be fixed. On the other hand, with some work "Lee and Grant" could have been pretty good. A good start would be to do some serious editing so that the Overland Campaign gets its due. After all that was where Lee faced Grant "Mano a Mano".

I'm not one to worship titles, but someone who accedes to a president of a major college really ought not be called a moron by someone who doesn't have advanced learning.

Drew Gilpen Faust might well be a moron, but I would rather someone with credentials would make that charge.

I freaked out! They gave that critical period bout 5 seconds. THAT was what I was most looking forward to. Again, I freaked out. Have not freaked out since the sixties.

Well, I'm not a dentist nor have I played one on TV but if I'm sitting in their chair I bet it wouldn't take me long to figure out if they are a bad dentist or not.

You and Frank Zappa. Remember though, if you remember the '6os you weren't really there. If the purpose of the show was to compare and contrast Lee and Grant then how can you NOT include the Overland Campaign in detail?
