Picked this fella up off a Facebook group. Pictured is a young cavalryman. Sporting a sword and two rings.

Condition is rather rough sadly but his face remains somewhat clear and the tinting on the jacket and buttons remains strong. Goes well with the arty corporal I posted a little while back.

The tax stamp on the back would indicate it's a later war photo (64-65)

Edit: Thanks to UCVRelics for pointing out he's cavalryman! Makes it even cooler. The darker tinting on the jacket trim had me thinking artillery

Nice image but I believe his is cavalry with the yellow piping, the eagle sword plate, cavalry sword and cavalry boots.

When the content is that good, sometimes condition isn't so important. I'll take content over condition any day!

Do you think the piping is yellow? Looks closer to red to my eye. Boots and belt definitely say cav. but the piping's throwing me off.

Certainly would rather he's a cavalryman!
On tintype's there is only 1 color of enhancements gold leaf. He is a cav trooper as his sword is also a cav sword.

Very nice image! I do enjoy armed subjects! And the tax stamp is always a nice addition! Condition, may not be ideal or pristine but it's most definitely easily identifiable. All in all a very nice image! Thxs for sharing!

Definitely a Cavalryman. Yellow often comes out as black on old photographs.
