I am definitely distance impaired. I have had a lot of trouble over the years estimating or comprehending ranges during battlefield tours. At my request, my children bought me a Vortex Diamondback HD 2000 laser rangefinder (hunting). I now carry it with me on all my battlefield trips. So far I have employed it at Chickamauga, Chancellorsville (Hazel Grove/Fairview), Port Republic and Piedmont and I must say it legitimately enhanced my experience. I am posting this because I have been surprised at how many advanced battlefield trampers I met last week at a Round Table meeting and the SVBF Annual Congress were intrigued by the possibilities of this technology.

All FWIW.
