Forrest Larry Cockerham passed away

It would be nice to think that his shoes could be filled, but I don't think we'll see in our lifetime the one who can fill them.

Wow, what a shock? There were few who knew more about the war in Tennessee, he will be will...I used to take shots at N. Forrest just to get him going. I knew he would give me an education every time.

Sad news to read first thing in the morning, I always enjoyed reading Larry's posts here and I know he will be missed by all. My thoughts and prayers go out to Larry's Family, May he rest in peace.

This is so very sad. I didn't really know him outside of his posts, but he was very considerate, reasoned and articulate with his points. A model poster on this forum and someone who I would like to model my posting habits after. My condolensces and prayers to his family and friends, including those here. It is amazing how well we can get to know one another and become fond of them without even having had the pleasure of meeting them.

My condolences to his family,i didn't know him at all but from everyones reaction and comments about him it's seems everyone was very fond of him, it seems i missed out on getting to know a very unique and well liked person.

Wow, I am so sad to hear the news. Larry was very helpful when I was planning my trip down to Shiloh. He even gave me his phone number if I got lost in the Nashville area. He will be missed.

I have never met someone more sincere in their convictions and so outstanding in their honesty and integrity. I doubt I ever will. May he be at peace, now and forever.

I have been reading through this thread yesterday and today as well and I am sorry to hear the passing of a dear friend to every singe one of you.
I'm sorry to have not had the chance to meet him.

You missed knowing a true Southern gentleman and Son of the South. You would do well to click on his name in one of his posts and review the many threads he began and participated in.

I'm not sure where else to post this, and perhaps news has already been posted somewhere else, but I just learned Larry Cockerham passed away yesterday. I am shocked and saddened. I have known Larry for several years now and he was a good and decent man. He will be missed.

I canhardly believe this. I just met Larry last May when he guided me thru Franklin. He was a genuine and friendly guy, generous with his time and knowledge. he was also a great asset to this website, always kind and considerate and never a disparaging word. I'll miss Larry alot.
