Lancaster can boast both the first Civil War monument and one of only two Blue Boy statues in the US - or so I keep reading. Does anyone know where the other Blue Boy is?

I spent an enjoyable couple of hours in Lancaster; lunch was at the Copper Dome Sports Bar (got myself a t-shirt from there too) and then had an ice cream at the Blue Boy Bakery across the street. I also bought some beer cheese to take back to Madison.
Also in town is the Cunningham Museum which has some Civil War artifacts.

The pillars that surround the monument list the men from Grant County who lost their lives in the Civil War. I photographed all the names so if anyone wants a name or regiment in particular please ask and I'll add it to the thread.

He's made of zinc and, like the monument, is situated outside the Grant County Court House. Over 100 years old and was restored in 2012.

Because of the high casualty rate in Grant Co the original design had to be changed. There were two additional pillars added and the center piece was increased by four feet in height to accommodate the names of all the dead. UW-Platteville is a great source of information in Grant County
