July 1-16 Cook Awards

July 1 starts another chance to win the cook awards. The month has National Baked Bean Month, National Hot Dog Month, and National Ice Cream Month. Some of the national days are Gingersnap Day, Macaroni Day, French Fry Day, Hamburger Day and Lasagna Day . Hope to see many recipes and threads about food of the era posted too.

Keep cooking and keep them coming.

Make sure everyone watches ESPN on July 4, for the annual hot dog eating contest from Nathan ' s at Coney Island.i think the record is 64 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes.

Each year I watch the contest at Nathan's, I say aloud "This is disgusting! I don't know why we have this on..." But, we do stay tuned and probably will "spin" to it this 4th if we are watching TV when it airs.

Do, although like the foods that are featured in July. Who cannot like picnics, picnic foods and outdoor cooking???
