Joseph Hooker

Another excellent job Zuzah. I always thought how contemporary Hooker looked without any facial hair. Put a suit on him and he could be your congressman. But with a name like Hooker that could be a problem(even though he's the reason for the name).:wink:

It's a common misconception, and Hooker was actually used even back in 1840 before Hooker himself was prominent, although the girls featuring Hooker's camp was named 'Hooker's girls', and the name certainly didn't get any less popular thanks to him.

Although I could be wrong, and if anyone feels like correcting me, by all means go for it.

Yes, he looks very very common, just like Gershom Mott does aswell - just like he could be from today with those mutton chops.

I have read about it both ways and even the write up I did states that (I need to update it). However I have read more recently that agrees with your comment on the term being used prior to General Hooker.

On the other hand, General Prostitute has no excuses.
