John Brown Junior helped his father recruit and prepare for the Harpers Ferry Raid. During the Civil War Junior formed the John Brown Sharpshooters from ardent abolitionists and took them to Kansas where they joined the First Kansas Cavalry a.k.a. Jennison's Jayhawkers. John Brown Junior then returned to Michigan to recruit resolute abolitionist to help protect Missouri. When the First Kansas Cavalry became the Kansas Seventh Volunteer Cavalry Brown was company commander of Company K. Doc Charles R. Jennison was eventfully charged with plundering in Missouri and discharged for the army.

Doc Jennison. He does not look like a plunderer to me.
