Jenkins' Ferry Dedication

I'd like to invite those who live close by to the dedication of a historical marker dedicated to the lives and losses of the citizens who endured the Battle of Jenkins' on April 30th near the town of Leola. The site will be marked. The site will be where the cabin of Jane McWhorter Jenkins stood. The cabin was used for the headquarters of General Steele. Come if you can.

Boy I'd sure like to be there. However, the Commonwealth thinks I'd be more useful on jury duty on that date (sigh).
