Got to be well after the Civil war ended

Yes my relative was a lawyer in New Orleans and was there with Jefferson Davis when he was writing his book the rise and fall of the confederacy he was over seeing the writing of the book

Great photo. What an heirloom to have.

Yes it was taken at his home and no we didn't receive a copy of the box we had the picture all along but never knew what it was for

Recently we found a relative in New Orleans and they had a copy of a old news paper referring to the event why he was there

To bad we don't have any other data on what he knew about the book Jefferson Davis was writing would have been cool if Jefferson Davis told home where the conferdate gold was hidden
