Jefferson Davis State Historic Site

I was able to make it here today on my way back towards Louisville. The museum was closed since it's Sunday but still quite a sight for being in the middle of nowhere Kentucky. I came from the south and could make out the top of the obelisk from around 8 miles away even though I was on back roads. Met a couple from New Mexico whose son is stationed at nearby Fort Campbell and they were in absolute shock due to the size/height of the monument (351 ft.). Would have loved to visit the museum but always time to make it back. Here are some photos from today.

I have been by the site many times. It is off 24 on the way to Nashville. Thank you for the good photos of it.

I plan to make it back after the COVID stuff ends and after they move his statue there that they removed from the Kentucky Statehouse.

Been there several time. Enjoyed visits a lot. I bought several things at Museum gift shop.

It's on my to do list, I've drove by it several times......it's one of those places distance wise, it's usually on a long days drive and haven't wanted to detour to it as usually running down 24.
