Very nice. Do you know where it is? I thought I saw something like that photo at the Jefferson Davis Monument and Birthplace in Fairview, Ky. They had several early pictures.

No idea where the original is. I found it on Wikipedia and it said that the original source was from the Virginia Encyclopedia. I could find nothing else on it. 1853 was the year that he was named Secretary of War, so perhaps it was in Washington D. C.
