This is my 9 year old's model of the steamer Alice from the Roanoke river. Captured in 1862 while transporting bacon, salt pork, and the church bells from the churches in and around Plymouth NC. He put the bells at the bow and crates and barrels of pork at the stern. No pictures could be found, in fact, very little physical info on the boat can be found. We went with a side wheel style from Andy's note from a pervious thread. You can say we used a bit of artistic license.

The bells were to be recast into cannons for the Confederate cause. This was being done all along the Albemarle sound. Edenton NC used it's bells to make 4 field artillery tubes that were named the Edenton Bell Battery. 2 of the 4 guns still survive and are on display on the waterfront in Edenton.
