This might not go in this forum, but is there an official roster of the Iron Brigade? (East or West, I'm not picky.)
Thanks!

Thank you!Since most of the Iron Brigade of the East was from New York, the rosters for each regiment can be found here.
If you need information concerning the 24th Michigan Infantry Helen H. Ellis prepared a book, Michigan in the Civil War A guide to the Material in Detroit Newspapers 1861-1866, which gives an index to all the Civil War era newspaper articles published in Detroit newspapers. I live close to the State of Michigan Library which houses almost all the micro film of Michigan Civil War era newspapers. If the library ever reopens I could copy articles that had information you might want.I am doing some research on the Iron Brigade.
Ooh! Official state reports! I thank you! Here is the information from the adjutant general reports for Indiana & Wisconsin:

And a particularly nifty site from Michigan:

These are all available to download for free from Google, the Internet archive, and Michiganology (Archives of Michigan).
Good luck with your research.

New books to read! I actually came here with a "Side quest", if you will, to find some high quality recommended books on one of the most famous brigades in history. And the 24th Michigan is somewhat forgotten, as they only joined in December 1862.There is a roster of the men of the 24th Michigan in the book "History of the 24th Michigan of the Iron Brigade." Although it was printed in 1891 it was reprinted in 1988. The author was O.B. Curtis.
I believe when John Gibbon was in command. I always found maps quite interesting. Thanks for some more reading!https://www.amazon.com/dp/1467142158/?tag=civilwartalkc-20
I enjoyed this book on the Wisconsin Iron Brigade at Antietam. A quick read with maps.
you are welcome. I am proud of them. This little book is a great tribute to them. Hope it isn't off topic in this thread, but people into the Iron Brigade in all states might enjoy it.I believe when John Gibbon was in command. I always found maps quite interesting. Thanks for some more reading!
I didn't know that surprisingly! Thanks! The book on the 24th Michigan that Kurt G. posted about is online here (the 1891 edition): https://books.google.com/books/about/History_of_the_Twenty_fourth_Michigan_of.html?id=LD8rAQAAIAAJ
You probably know this already, but Alan Nolan wrote a very good book about the brigade in 1961, and Donald Smith wrote another book specifically on the 24th Michigan in 1962.
Thank you!
