I had an ancestor serving in 2nd wisconsin vol. infantry wounded in either the west woods or cornfield at Antietam. I'm looking for relics related to that regiment, Antietam, the full spectrum. Figured I would come here beings its the best site on the web. Any suggestions, ideas, something to sell let me know. Cash ready

About the Gettysburg Museum of History? What have you heard?

Primarily the accusation that some of the relics they have sold are considerably newer than 1863 being closer to 1963. That siad I've never dealt w/ them. They were bad mouthed pretty heavily a while back on another site. Some seemed like more legitimate gripes than others but other seemed pretty petty.

Personally, I don't buy relics, prefering to purchase items I can still use such as period tools or functional firearms & I'm only likely to purchase those from a dealer I know of & trust.

How reputable are these relic sellers? Just curious because I wouldn't mind getting some of these.

Depends? like most things, it's all about who you are dealing with. Let me know what you are looking for. I'll put you in touch with the right folks. I prefer to dig most of my relics but do buy occasionally for my collection.

Thanks, shoot me a direct message if you'd like. I'm not interested in anything specific at the moment, but would like to look around at what is available.
