Interesting take on Atlanta

That's first rate, right there, especially given that there is very little in modern Atlanta that is recognizable from that period. My wife has a couple of uncles who took an extended walking tour through Georgia and the Carolinas in 1864-65 with their Uncle Billy. I'll have to show this to her.

Came across this article with pictures of reenactors posed on historic sites associated with the fighting for Atlanta. The pictures are very well done, combining melancholy and humor surprisingly well. Apologies if this has already been posted though. It was new to me.

This reminds me very much of the Battle of the Somme commemoration that we recently had in Britain. over a thousand young men were dressed in WW1 uniform and they were sent out into the streets of places like London, Manchester and Liverpool. They never spoke, all they did was stand around busy places and occasionally break into song, they would randomly sing 'we're here because we're here' it was very powerful, just like the photos in your link. I guess for some people its quirky and different, for others very moving. Its a great method for reminding people of the sacrifices that these men made. Thanks for posting. Something similar could work to commemorate the CW soldiers. We called them ghost soldiers.

I love the one of the guys in the pick-up. If only!!!

I don't know, looks like a recordable waiting to happen - not only are they unrestrained in the bed of a vehicle, where are their reflective belts? Safety officer is going to be writing them up, definitely ... Plus, not only is the driver not wearing his seat belt, there doesn't appear to BE a driver...

And unsheathed blades? No safety lines or PPE? And I doubt those are steel toed boots...

This is going to drive the HSE numbers through the roof. ;)

Best,

Best,
Not a single one of them was wearing a hard hat and what about dust masks, do they not realise that pollution from cars can be quite toxic, I'm not even going to go into the fact that a number of them are obstructing the rear-view mirror. Someone needs to make a complaint.

Indeed. No hearing protection, either - OSHA is definitely going to be looking into this!

Best,
