First off, would anyone here even half consider writing a book of their experiences in reenacting? If so, what would your primary focus be? Would you concentrate on the battles, and the events that we frequent on so many weekends? Or would you take the book and make it into something a bit more detailed, such as how reenacting affects our personal lives and other areas?

Secondly, what would you title such a book if one was to be written, and what would the description on the back or on the inside front cover look like? How far would you go with such a book in describing an obsession that all of us fell deeply in love with at one time or another?

This may seem like an odd topic for conversation, but the idea crossed my mind last night while I was working, and I decided to get further input. Let me know what you think!

Honestly, if I had to write a book detailing my experiences in reenacting, I would probably title it somewhere along the lines of:
"At Extreme Elevation: An Insiders Guide to The World Of Civil War Reenacting."

I recently did pick up a book written about reenacting: "Reliving the Civil War" "A Reenactor's Handbook" By R.Lee Hadden. Published by Stackpole Press, copywrite 1996. Yes some of the pricing of items are dated, but 90% of the information is useful. It covers both military and civilian, and even has some drills in the back. cost me I think it was 15 bucks. Covers Living history, teaching, hisoty of reenacting. And also questions that spectators ask. Just a whole bunch of stuff.
