Identify these medals/badges?

I wonder if anyone can make an educated guess, at least, as to what the various medals or what-have-you are on the jacket in his picture? He belonged to the New Jersey Zouaves 35th regiment, Company C from March to July 1865. He became a member of the GAR in 1877, General Leiper Post 639, Norwood, Penna. (That makes the insignia on the front of the hat obvious.) There seems to be an image of some kind on the top of the hat, too.

Sorry this image is so huge--I don't know how to make it smaller without making it a thumbnail, which is too small.

More reunion medals. The one at top-center is closest to @ZouaveGAR 's photo.

Thank for the input, and to everyone else for replies/welcomes. Nice bunch here, huh?

Yes, the one with the star does look like the GAR badge.

suggested one could be a reunion badge--GAR reunion or Zouaves reunion?

Any ideas on the ribbon attached to the button? Would it be a ribbon with a loop sewn on to go over a button? What about the lapel button--do you think that might be something with significance, or just a standard lapel button?

No positive identification of the medals can be made because no details of the medals can be seen.

Gen. Charles I. Leiper Post 639, G. A. R.
(Norwood, PA)

Books of GAR interest.

Welcome From THE Heart Of Dixie. Be sure to stop by the Weapons & Ammo and the Uniforms & Relics forum. His center medal is indeed a GAR members medal the other unreadable. His hat does reflect his GAR Post. The member medals did have a serial # on the outside edge of the star. Great Photo.

Thanks, ucvrelics, I will check the other forums you suggested.
