Best guess for the guy at middle is Col Washington Hardy of the 60th NC but he looks a bit old to be Hardy.
Best guess for the guy on the right is Rufus Barringer, later General Rufus Barringer, or Col Risden Tyler Bennett, 14th NC.
My advice is to be patient, and hopefully some of the expert identifiers @AndyHall@Frederick14Va@Mike Serpa and some of the others will come along and help out
Been looking on and off @frontierchris Will let you know if I find any possibilities. Are you sure he's Confederate? Could the image have been taken in Mobile of a Union officer after Mobile fell?
Josiah Robins... Colonel of 3rd Alabama Cavalry, (served as Captain, Major, Lt.Col, then Colonel)
3rd Ala. Cav had ties to Mobile, mustered there in Oct 1861, and several of its companies were from the area.
Here is a post war image of Josiah, that has a number of feature similarities to the above image also of note is the shape and contour of the ears.. Just an observation....
So true ! Apparently frontierchris doesn't like to read and do his own research. He'd rather we did it for him ! He's pulled this several times. Troll alert !!!!
