My great grandfather, who also served in the Massachusetts 10th Light Artillery Battery, talks about selling a pair of high top boots that he has no more use for due to the warm weather in a letter to his wife. I have a photo of him from the war, but it doesn't show his boots so I can't say if they are similar to his fellow sergeant's boots.
