I lost my mind bidding when I came across this cut down 1832 Springfield at the last minute. Gavel $625. My question to you guys is how bad I'm in the hole - $2, 3, 400?

I really don't think its that bad I kinda like they barrel length looks cool.

Yes I agree looks great! Send another photo of the entire musket. Im not sure on price. As long as you enjoy it! I myself have a piece that I overpaid for (not saying you did) I keep it as a visual reminder to keep my wits about me when bidding or buying but now I've come to enjoy it I don't mind the price! Thanks. Appreciate the feedback from you all. Been kicking myself. The second pic down IS the entire gun. A one barrel band-er! I'll tell myself it's a Confederate capture cavalry side arm!

Is it me or the picture, but the end of the muzzle looks like it flares open open a little; kind of like a mini blunderbuss.

I have no idea of the value of this piece, but it looks to be in decent condition and I would think paying $600 for isn't that outrageous at all.

Thanks again for all the useful feedback. Yes, the muzzle is flared like a blunderbuss. I thought it was cool and unique too -- had never seen anything cut like this before -- which is how I got caught up in the last second bidding. I liked the very strong cartouches too.
