As it's Fourth of July weekend I thought I would delve into the history of the hotdog. I'd say a lot of the world would consider the hotdog a quintessential food of the United States. I wondering if that is just a stereotype and if they are actually universal loved across the country. Or are they just an esoteric thing for New Yorkers & Chicagoans. I'm fond of a decent hot dog but they can be hard to come by as I avoid dirty water hot dog carts. When I was last in Nyc I tried a Nathan's and it was good. I know German immigrants brought it to the US but it will be interesting to discover how they became so popular and such an integral part of going to a ball game
