Host still under the weather

I went through this in October/November, for about two weeks, and then for another 2-3 weeks couldn't stand to eat anything that wasn't on the "bland diet" list. I did manage to recover in time for Thanksgiving, but even then I only ate small amounts.

Here's wishing you a speedier recovery!

I have had this stomach virus for a week now. It has really knocked me for a loop.

Thanks to all who are posting in Food Forum. Hope to be back and up to speed next week.

Living on tea, toast and crackers for now.

Donna

Really sorry to hear that. I do hope it's run its course.

Here's my recipe for toast:

1 or 2 pieces of good sliced bread
butter (not margarin) - optional
jelly, jam, or preserves - optional

put pieces in a toaster set to medium crispness; for more crispness set to a darker setting
if using butter or one of the other options, spread butter liberally with a butter knife, then choice of spread; start from the center and work outward; edges will take care of themselves.

My husband has the same recipe.

So sorry, Donna! And I hated ' liking ' posts where anyone said they were sick, too! Been operating on 3 here, too, as you know so I think maybe we should just throw in the towel and duct tape all the spare parts together. Between two of us, we'll manufacture one and a half, at least, of a functioning humanoid.

Keep fighting it! Thinking of you!

Disclaimer: I don't know if this actually works.

Settle your stomach by knocking back a brandy and port:

Brandy may be the first port of call for many when dealing with shock, but quite a few people claim that when you mix it with port it'll settle your tummy in no time.

Thanks to all for well wishes. It is just going to take time. I had another rough night. It sure makes one weak.

John thanks for toast recipe. I usually just have the toast plain. Maybe try a little butter or jam.

As to brandy and port, I don't think I could handle it. Thanks for thought.

Annie, I know you been under the weather too. Let's hope we both get better soon. Always so much I need to do.

Hope you get well soon. We have missed you.
