Now Florida but always a Kentuckian
We returned from Florida last night. We were very thankful our house was okay. We did have to go to Jacksonville for part of the week. There was damage over there, especially the Jacksonville beach areas.

At the hotel we were at in Jacksonville, they were putting up many of the workers who came to help with the repairs. It was called Storm Services. They said they were very busy as so much damage.

After being there, many were going to Daytona Beach area. I wished them well and prayers for many.

Our daughter lives in North Carolina. She was okay but much area around her was flooded.

My prayers to all who were hurt by the hurricane and my prayers of thanks that we made it okay and our daughter and family were safe.

I will get Cook Awards done Monday for Oct. 1 thru 16. Thanks to all of you for the many posts and threads.

Happy to have you back! I was getting a little antsy, seemed like a long trip this time. Plus, we heard a play by play of the storm until it hit then just nothing else. Even with all the dreadful flooding and poor victims of the storm in NC, news gave us little.

Great to hear your house was not damaged, what a relief although must be very hard seeing others whose homes took such a beating. Prayers to all.

Good to see you back, Donna! Glad all is well. The news networks don't cover the full extent of the effects of a storm like that - people way inland are affected by the backwash up the rivers and creeks. That's when you find out just how much of a little world we really are!
