Hey from Pittsburgh...If I can find where I have the picture, I have a picture of the litter that Jackson was carried on (it's on display at the Gettysburg Visitor Center)

Yep!!! That's the one!

Super! Looks a bit 'torn'--wonder if people took bits of it as 'keepsakes' as they did Jackson's Uniform. (In the additional link, Mrs. Jackson explains why she didn't have a Confederate Uniform and why the one he (Stonewall) had on--disappeared.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did take "keepsakes", it's kind of weird what people sometimes consider taking...I remember reading that when the FBI killed Dillinger, people were dipping their handkerchiefs in his blood as a memento...

I worked with a guy who was there. He said the onlookers were collecting the blood on scraps of newspaper. I can see where anything might do.

Looking to plans for field hospital litters.
Deb, do you plan to make one? Be sure to use round-head, slotted screws. (Or cut nails if use is limited..)

I wouldn't worry overmuch about authenticity as I suspect many of the issued probably went missing and someone just made more.
