Gen., commanded Heth's Divn/III Corps at Gettysburg (w), Bristoe Station, February 1864 Maj. Gen., Wilderness, Spotsylvania, Petersburg, Appomattox.
Post War Career Insurance business, wrote memoirs.
Notes His division made first contact at Gettysburg, and he was inclined to be impetuous. He pronounced his name "Heeth".
