My great great grandfather, Henry Gordon Mitchell joined the Second Connecticut Heavy Artillery Regiment at the age of 16 after his grandfather (who fought in the war of 1812) passed away.

Here I mapped out the journey he and his fellow men took. (After his enlistment) Red location marker = dead casualties

Nice map. He must have had some stories to tell. Do you know any details about his experiences?
He was wounded on June 1st at Cold Harbor from a gunshot through his right arm and right leg but survived until being mustered out August 18th 1865. Within a decade or so after the war he moved to MN where he purchased 160 acres via the homestead act, not sure how long he had it though.
